Five Ways to Wake up the Creative Writer in you

Writing an article doesn’t just mean putting down thoughts into words then typing and writing it. You have to capture the interest of your readers and give them a reason to keep reading. You have to get the attention of the reader and have a firm grasp of their interest and pique their curiosity. Here are five ways you can get creative.

The main ingredient in writing an article is creativity. While creativity may come natural to many people, some of us get writers block. It can be a hair pulling ordeal just to get your creative juices flowing.

Putting words into images in the readers mind is an art. A clear and crisp depiction requires a certain flair that only creativity can provide. Similes and metaphors help a lot, but the way an article gets entwined word for word, sentence by sentence then paragraph by paragraph into a whole article develops the essence of the article.

So just what do you have to do when nothing comes to mind? That’s a fair question but unfortunately, there’s no surefire ways to get those perfect ideas to pop into your head. But, there are easy ways to get your creative juices flowing and put you into a perfect mindset and state of mind. Here are five of them.

1) Keep a diary or a journal in your pocket or with you at all times. You just never know when an idea is triggered by something you may hear, see, or smell. Your senses are your radar in finding great ideas. Write all of them into a journal and keep it with you for future reference. You may also write down anything that you have read or heard, someone’s ideas could be used to develop your own ideas and this is not stealing. Remember that ideas and creativity can come from anywhere; it’s the development of the idea that makes it unique.

2) Relax and take time to sort things out. You need a clear head. A jumbled mind cannot create any space for new ideas. If you are bothered by something, give yourself permission to get rid of it for awhile. Put it in the closet for a few minutes. Try closing your eyes and allowing yourself some quiet time. Block out all the sights sounds and smells around you. Turn your focus inward and breathe.

Try to relax every time that you can and think about your experiences and interactions with others. Your experiences are what shape your mindset and your opinions which could be reflected on your writings. Try to discover yourself, find out what triggers your emotions. Discover what inspires you and what ticks you off. You can use these emotions to help you in expressing yourself and your ideas, with this you can grow creatively.

3) Create a working place that can inspire your creativeness.

Creativity comes from being in a good state of mind and a messed up workplace that causes distraction won’t be conducive in firing up your creative flow.

Surround your working place with objects that makes you happy and relaxed. You may put up pictures, or scents, plants or anything that can to inspire you, relax you and get your creativeness cranking.

4) Set the mood. Setting the mood requires you to just go with the moment or to induce yourself to feeling what makes your mind works best. Finding out what makes you tick could help you find ways to get your creative juices flowing. Set the pace and tempo for your mood and everything else will follow.

There are many ways to set the mood. Some writers have been known to have a
little sip of wine to stir up the imagination. Some use mood music while others let the lighting of the environment create the mood. You decide what sets your mood.

5) Go on a vacation and just do something crazy and out of the norm for you. Letting yourself go and have fun produces adrenaline which can make your imagination run wild. If your day is usually a busy one, take an quiet adventure or a solemn hike. Whatever it is that is unusual from your daily routine can take the rut out of your schedule.

In no time at all, your imagination will make use of that experience and get your creativeness to start working in overdrive.

An Indispensable Writing Tool

A small but indispensable tool if you’re serious about writing is a notebook; I mean the paper kind and not the computer. Yes, that’s right, a notebook. It should be carried around whenever you leave your home or office. Here’s why:

1. You just don’t know when an idea will strike. Unless you have a photographic memory, you’d want to write down that idea immediately so you may study it at a later time. Ideas often come when you are aware of the sights and sounds around you.

2. It’s better to write down experiences as much as possible in real time then try to relive and write about it later. For example a first-time visit to a park or rain forest can produce emotions or feelings that would be difficult to duplicate in writing if recalled by memory when it’s long over.

3. You might meet an important or exciting personality whom you’d like to quote verbatim. To write about it later out of memory might cause you to misquote the person, which will render your article false. What’s worse is that you might draw the ire of the person misquoted.

4. When you have a chosen subject matter, it helps very much to collect information. An article with lots of information endears you to readers, especially those who go to the Internet for information. Jotting down as much information you can get will also give you fodder for more future articles. Information will also generate those all-imortant ideas.

Of course, it goes without saying, that carrying a notebook will entail carrying that other indispensable tool, a pen (or pencil). Carrying these are unobtrusive, lightweight and can easily be retrieved and used.

They may seem old-fashioned, but they work nonetheless.

Seven Tips to Successfully Write Web Articles!

Online readers love free information. They scour the internet daily looking for specific information to solve their problems, help them be successful, live longer or get healthy. You should join the information revolution too! Publish your free helpful solution-oriented articles to the web.

But wait! There are a few things to keep in mind when writing for the web. Long paragraphs are usually acceptable for print media; they are not for the web. If you want to write articles that web users will love to read and put to use follow these 7 simple tips:

1. Make your article scan ready. A study by Jakob Nielson publicized as guru of web page usability by the New York Times published that only 16 per cent of his test users actually read the copy they found online; 79 per cent of them simply scanned it. Your impatient web readers will want important information to jump out at them.

Some practical ways to make your text scannable are: headings, sub-headings, bulleted list, numbered lists, easy steps and/or typeface variation. For example, compelling headlines are considered an art. Are you drawn to the author’s article as “How to Write Web Articles” or “5 Tips to Write Winning Web Articles?”

2. Keep it short. Get and keep the attention of web readers by delivering short messages. You put effort into gaining your web reader’s attention; now make their click worthwhile with brief compelling copy in bite sizes.
Start with the conclusion. Your readers may not make it to the end of your piece to get it. Web readers don’t want to get bogged down in long blocks of text. So get to the point early and use the rest of your article to support that main point.

3. Make Your Title Sizzle. Dull titles will not capture your readers interest. It will make your article fade into the sea of other boring articles listed in article banks these days. You have to create a title that will reach out and grab your reader by the collar. To get your article read, start with a sizzling title. Make it short. Create interest. Include the main benefit or solution in your title.

4. Talk to Your Targeted Audience. Your information is not for everyone. Avoid generalities. Choose a friend or family member that’s interested in your topic. Write your article to them. Writing to a friend will make your copy personable and friendly.
You won’t come across as a fussy hen, do this, do this, don’t do that. You will connect with your readers as a friend giving advice. Your article will do a better job of building creditability for you. Creditability inspires trust and readers only trust their friends.

5. Add substance. Resist fluffing your articles. Include practical valuable information in your copy. Everyone loses when you don’t take the time to impart substance. It increases the reputation of the web being an unreliable source of knowledge. Additionally, lack of substance will block your road to profitable referrals.

Do the research and/or draw from your knowledge and experience to illustrate. Your stories and real life examples will meet your reader’s need for practical information and connect with their emotion. It’s a known fact emotions will move people to action. Whether you desire them to act by signing up or making a purchase, add substance and improve your reader responses.

6. Make it web professional. Create a more web professional look by using short sentences then format your page to approximately 65 characters per line. Long stringed sentences that stream
from side to side of the web page look visually unprofessional. Select a layout for your article from several short article formats that include the how-to, tips list, question-answer, problem-solutions and interview.

Make your introduction and summary short but do add one. Your web readers don’t want just a list of boring facts and information. They want to connect with you by reading your personable introduction and practical tips with a definite ending or summary. Remember excited readers become enthusiastic buyers and enthusiastic buyers will refer your product or service to all their friends.

7. Use your keywords. Thread your keywords throughout your short article as naturally as possible. Otherwise your copy will sound stiff and dull. To gain visibility on the search engines, your site must be “indexed” by their robotic software.

In its most basic form, they must be able to compare the code, keywords and other Meta tags with the actual content of the site. From this they reach a conclusion regarding the context of the site. This and other factors will affect how well your copy or website places in the search engines.

You may use these guidelines for all kinds of web copy. The same elements of using keywords, making your article professional, adding substance, keeping it short and making your copy scannable will improve the quality of your articles. Practice the above simple principles and write winning articles to distribute on the web everywhere.

Subscribe to pertinent groups or forums that can be helpful in your quest. Stay abreast with the latest news, be interested in anything and everything.
Open up your mind. Then, you can decide which venue is right for you. Ask yourself, are you interested in mainstream type of writing ? Or would you choose specific areas of interest?

already a writer!
Get excited about writing down your ideas. The golden opportunity is before you, as never before. Actually, jumping in the bandwagon of writing for the internet can be overwhelming for the faint of heart, confusing for the skeptic, yet exciting for the go-getter. Which one are you?
The internet is open to all segments of society and to people from all walks of life. Access is not limited to the technologically inclined. It is no longer as intimidating as it was when the information superhighway first opened in the 20th century. People are less apt to admit their computer illiteracy, rather, more members of our society are learning how to navigate the cyberspace.
Learn about the basic rules of writing for the web. Cyber readers tend to be fast thinkers, speed readers, with only seconds to spare. If you want to grab their attention, remember, you only have precious few seconds to do it.
Take heart. You already know this. You love to see your by-line. The web will help you get your name out there. The more you write, the better you’ll get at it. Technically, if your work gets published on-line, you are considered published.

What are you waiting for?

New to Article Writing – Start Here

First, go back to basics. The whole idea of article writing is to communicate. You have found good information, news, drama, or opinion on a timely subject and feel you have something to say about it. Perhaps you have no more to say about it than any one else but your way of elucidation may help people to see something a little better or something they may have missed. This is good stuff but then comes the business of writing it.

I have found myself getting too long winded in some of my articles. When I found out that the best article length in general is between 450 to 650 words I started to modify my writing to fit that criteria. I still get cramped up sometimes wanting to write more but knowing I’ve said enough. In time I found a way to keep things both simple and readable without sparing important content.

It is so simple I am almost embarrassed to say it. But if a thing works it should be made known. If you were to pick up a pen and write a letter to a friend what form would it take?

Would it have a summary, seven points and a huge wrap up? No it wouldn’t. What it would have is three major divisions, an introduction, two or three points and a conclusion. This may not be the best form for every article you write but it is an excellent place to start if you’re new to article writing. It is also a good place to fall back to when you have gotten far too complicated and bogged down in form and polish.

I am not suggesting that you cease to get all the advice you possibly can to improve your writing skills. I have a few sites I refer to constantly to learn new things. One of my favorites is “Pointeronline.” Every once in a while I have to re-simplify to make sense of something I’m trying to say, try it yourself. Remember, introduction, two or three points and a conclusion.

The importance of writing articles

If you want inbound links to your site one way to do this without paying is writing articles and post them in different sites that allow you to submit articles.

Writing articles is one of the best ways to promote your web site. It is one of the best ways to build the relations, credibility and to help get people to know more about you and your area of expertise is to write articles. One advantage that you can get with writing articles is that if your article get submitted it is an automatic inbound link to your site without having to add a link on your site to them.

People are always looking for good articles for their websites, blogs and newsletters. By submitting your articles and allowing others to publish them free of charge you begin to develop credentials in your field and essentially "brand" yourself through your name. Make sure you submit your article on the right category and also make sure you write the articles according to their terms. If you don’t follow the terms then you won’t have your article publish.

It is through well written articles and keeping your visitor wanting to learn more that you will see more traffic on your Web site. More traffic means more profit for you.
By having lots of articles on lots of web sites around the world, you automatically rank above average on search engines because of your link popularity. All those links in the resource box back to your site can make a big difference in search engine ranking.

Need traffic? Write an article.

Need sales? Write an article.

Need Your Name branded? Write an article.

Writing newsletter articles can do all of these and more. So start writing articles Now!

Dell Coupon Codes – An Insider’s Guide To Saving With Dell Coupon Codes In 2010

If you’re in the market for a new home computer or looking to buy some kit for your office, give this article two minutes to learn the latest tricks about using Dell Coupon Codes andDell deals to save even 50% of a new Dell Vostro or Inspiron.

Dell had some glorious years right after the dotcom crisis – there was a renewed demand for cheap computers built to specs, and they were able to deliver good value for the money and without too much fuss. Yet nobody stays a leader forever, and the competition caught on, managed to lower the cost even more, and started beating Dell at their own game.

Under these circumstances, the company started a self-reinvention process in 2006. Michael Dell returned officially to helm, and they started cutting and trimming their own excesses. Unfortunately for us, the potential buyers, in the run for positive margin Dell stopped doing aggressive campaigns and Dell Coupon Codes started losing their appeal – smaller savings, higher thresholds, lower redemptions – all looked as if Dell had worked hard to prime its website visitors into opportunity buyers and now they were backing off.

The main reason for this stems from the demise of the direct model and Dell’s decision in 2006 to embrace ODM (Original Design Manufacturers) to create and build their computers, rather than assembling them in a Dell-branded factory. This meant two things:

  • Dell could no longer control the acquisition price the same way it did with individual PC components suppliers
  • Dell logistics started to manage large stocks of ready-made computers, a risky business where legacy configurations could easily turn to loss once the computer technology moves to the next thing like a new processor or operating system; this forces them to have a refresh of configurations every quarter, to make sure they are not left outside the current market demand – and below I will show you how to use this to your advantage.

With fixed systems and lack of configuration options, Dell Coupon Codes started losing their weight and appeal – a Dell Vostro coupon or Dell Inspiron coupon (the most popular lines with Business and respectively Home users) can now save you only petty amounts like 5% – 10% over high starting prices. Not the Dell deals customers were used to, of 100-200 dollars off / unit.

How can one still save 50% of the price of a new Dell Vostro or Inspiron laptop, then?

The answer is timing and understanding of the new Dell model – you must synchronize your purchase cycle with Dell’s refresh of fixed configurations (generally the beginning of the Dell fiscal quarter) and have a reliable website that shows you ALL valid coupon codes for a region at a given time. This does not mean websites like RetailMeNot or MyVoucherCodesUK are no longer effective – they work, but you might miss on the most exclusive coupons, like those offered over Twitter, Facebook, e-mail or as Dell Outlet vouchers.

When the new quarter is approaching, Dell sales and marketing need to make a difficult decision – risk selling their existing fixed configurations at a steep discount to clear the stock, or keep them and confuse the buyers with an offer listing 20+ variations of the same Vostro 3500 or Inspiron 15R. This is when they run fire sales, 24-48 hours of incredibly aggressive pricing, the way you see in large retail chains immediately after the holiday season.

The key to saving 50% off a Dell Inpiron or Vostro laptop on the new Dell store?

Keep an eye on a voucher site specialized in Vostro, Latitude, Inspiron, Studio and XPS coupon codes and wait patiently the end of the quarter. Once the fire sale is on, apply the latest stackable Dell coupon code to the bundle in aggressive promotion (20-40% off), make sure the saving is listed in the checkout basket, and get yourself a deal better than anyone else’s.

Plagiarism Peddlers?

I am amazed at what some people will do to increase their web site content.

Specifically, I have noticed a trend on at least one particular freelance site whereby someone will say they have a group of articles that they want to have rewritten. Okay, I haven’t seen the articles but I have wondered if they are someone else’s articles or if they are the employer’s material needing an update?

I belong to this particular freelance site and have been disappointed — for the most part — with many of the employers posting work. Some are legitimate, but many seem to be looking for poorly written articles or rewrites of existing articles. In addition, some proposals want fully researched and fresh material written for the princely sum of $10 or less per article.

Get real.

Personally, I stay away from these purveyors of plagiarism and stick with those employers who are looking for more than a quick fix for their poor performing site. If you want junk, your site will look and read like junk; there is simply no way of ethically getting around this point. Furthermore, you get what you pay for.

If you are a professional writer, I hope you are holding up conventional copyright standards. If you aren’t then you are simply contributing to much of the regurgitated garbage now circulating on the internet. End of story.
